Fast Hybrid Bike
By Donald from WA on 19 February 2012
I had the 2011 model for 8 months and had clocked over 1000Km. The gear groupset Tiagra was excellent, accurate and quiet. The bike was pretty light, about 10 kg or less. The only drawback was the pedal, it's making some squeaky noises when I put pressure on them. I sent it back to the shop but still could not get it fixed.
The 2012 model has got 30-gear and new pair of pedal. If you can get it at 700+ during sale season. This is the ultimate bike to go. No regret at all.
Brilliant bike, perfect for its task
By Wayne from WA on 11 November 2011
I've ridden this bike for nearly a year now. Purchased it last year during the sales, ( got it for $700 because of faults in the paintwork) and have ridden it in all kinds of weather in Perth, clocking up over 1000 km.
The bike has the perfect gearing for the trails around Perth and is lovely and light weight so you hardly have to work when pushing it up the hills. I have kept up with some of the serious road riders along Riverside drive so it's road heritage shines through.
The Flat bars provide for a relaxed and comfortable riding position.
The only reason I have marked it down is that the seat fastener ( on top of the carbon fibre pole) will move when you hit a bump whilst sitting down and cause the seat to tilt back. I pulled the unit apart completely and there does not appear to be any easy way to cause it to stay locked. I also find that the seat position is a little forward of where I prefer to ride (even when the seat is slid back to its maximum position), so this may add to the issue with the seat tilting.
Other than this the bike has been remarkably easy to maintain and provides an excellent bike for the commuter who wants to get away from the mountain bike variants but does not want to pay the exhorbitant sums wanted for true road bikes. Much of the running gear is equivalent to 2nd or 3rd level road bikes at a very reasonable price.
All in all an excellent value bike for the serious commuter.
