7.00am Sunday Road – Intermediate/Good Fitness + Sunday morning 7.00am – early for some but this is the time to meet up with other local road riders for a 55km ride to Black Rock and back. We meet every Sunday (weather permitting) outside the shop for a ride that departs Peninsula Star Cycles at 7.00am. The ride rolls out at about 34km p/h on the way to Black Rock clock tower and faster on the way home. The way home usually sees the ‘big boys’ (and women) crank up the speed as they head back. It must be the smell of the coffee in Frankston that spurs them on. The ride is completely social and it is the coffee and breakfast back at a local coffee shop in Frankston that really makes the ride lots of fun. It is a chance to make new friends and enjoy the prospect of new riding buddies as well as the bragging rights for the winner. There is always someone looking for a riding partner. 8.00am Sunday Road - Beginners A little bit more of a sleep in for this ride. This ride leaves the shop at 8.00am Sunday mornings. This is a ride suited to beginners on flat bars or roadies. The speed is much more casual and the distance is shorter. All the other good stuff still happens but it is more about learning how to ride and what to do in a pack on the road. For more information please contact Simon or Luke @ PSC on 9783 2266 (not available every Sunday) 6.30pm Wednesday Road - Evening This is the pizza ride. Riders meet outside La Porchetta in Frankston for a 6.30 departure. Direction of the ride does vary but usually it travels towards Black Rock/Mordialloc and back. Lights are necessary for this ride as the dusk in Daylight Savings makes for a great ride but being visable to cars is far more important. Back in Frankston the group enjoys dinner at La Porchetta afterwards. Very social and a great mid week ride. 7.30am Saturday Road Training, training, training. This ride is suited to anyone with a desire to put in the km’s. Easy start with some spurts of speed. Choose your distance and ride in company. This crew leaves from Seaford Pier carpark (Nepean Hwy, Seaford) at 7.30am. Once again coffee on offer after the ride and depending on the distance coffee in the middle too! The destination is often decided in the carpark on the day.
